From Conflict to Connection: 7 Skills for Challenging Conversations

Conflict is defined as a struggle resulting from opposing needs, drives, wishes, or demands.

Conflict is an inevitable part of the human experience, because each of us has different needs, drives, wishes and demands, as a result of our different identities and life experiences. Human conflicts are happening every moment of every day: on the global scale in the form of war and violence, as well as in the boardroom, on college campuses, and within our families and personal relationships.

Despite the ubiquity of conflict, most of us are woefully ill-equipped to approach it constructively. The majority of us have inherited the belief system that life is a zero-sum game of “my needs versus your needs”, where I can only win at your expense.

It is time for a collective evolution in our perspective and approach to conflict so that….

  • Leaders reach across the aisle to build bridges, instead of fueling division

  • “Either-or” becomes “both-and”

  • Conflicts become opportunities for greater understanding and connection

It is time for us to learn how to embrace conflict constructively, tap into our unbounded creativity, and find peaceful solutions to the world’s biggest challenges

If you are an evolutionary leader who wants to be part of this collective shift, join us for this 60-minute deep dive into Constructive Conflict led by Inheritance Project CEO, Katya Stepanov.

Expect to receive:

  2. Specific communication techniques and language tips to help you avoid misunderstanding and create greater connection during conflicts

ABOUT INHERITANCE PROJECT

Inheritance Project facilitates innovative leadership, inclusion and community-building programming through the lens of inheritance.

A new definition of Inheritance (n): ancestry, culture, beliefs, values, social conditions, stories, traits and perspectives received from past generations.

Your inheritance is more than the physical items passed from one generation to the next. It is the accumulation of all your unique lived experiences that shape how you live, think, and connect with others.

Inheritance Project’s mission is to heal divides and empower teams and communities to become spaces of belonging, where every individual can thrive, by expanding our understanding of our individual and shared inheritance.
