Transformation ๐Ÿ‚

Autumn is a potent time for transformation.

As the warmth of summer rays begin to fade and the days shorten, we are invited to turn our attention inwards and practice our favorite activity: Self-Inquiry.

We get the opportunity to collectively investigate:

  • What in our work and personal lives is coming to an end to make space for new life in the spring?

  • What beliefs, behaviors and ways of working are no longer serving us?

  • What new skills or behaviors do we need to learn and practice in order to grow?

Choreographer Yoann Bourgeois recently reminded the world with his breathtaking performance that โ€œSuccess isn't linearโ€

We believe this wisdom and the process he embodies here also applies to progress, growth, healing and transformation.

At Inheritance Project, we are in the business of disrupting inherited patterns that are keeping us trapped in inefficient and harmful behaviors both in the workplace and at home. In order to disrupt these patterns, we must first identify them, understand their origin, and recognize the purpose they served in the past. Only when we become clear on what we want to change can we take the first step in a new direction.

As we prepare ourselves for the whirlwind of Holiday Season, many of us will find ourselves visiting or thinking about the very place where many of our inherited beliefs, behaviors and patterns originate: our families.

As you cross the threshold into the past, you may find yourself confronting a variety of emotions. If you find yourself feeling like you've taken a few steps backwards in your journey, remember that each return to the source propels us forward in a new way that may not be perceptible to us at first.

This is a lifelong process, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Words To Live By

Autobiography in Five Chapters by Portia Nelson

โ€‹I

I walk down the street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I fall in.

I am lost โ€ฆ I am hopeless.

It isn't my fault.

It takes forever to find a way out.

II

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I pretend I don't see it.

I fall in again.

I can't believe I'm in the same place.

But it isn't my fault.

It still takes a long time to get out.

III

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I see it is there.

I still fall in โ€ฆ itโ€™s a habit.

My eyes are open.

I know where I am.

It is my fault.

I get out immediately.

IV

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I walk around it.

V

I walk down another street.
